CHARACTER NAME: Larsa Ferrinas Solidor
AGE: 12
CANON: Final Fantasy XII
CANON POINT: Post-game, pre-Revenant Wings
FAMILY TYPES: Deep Savers — Larsa is both serious and gentle. In addition, his AI is rather fond of the Aqua/Water spell.
Metal Empire — While Larsa is not a cold person, he is very calculating as well as a master tactician and diplomat. Calculating in always making an effort to predict what move his enemy might make and how to best overcome that, not calculating in an evil manner.
Virus Busters — Larsa is a very good, moral person. He always does what he believes is the right thing and has a knack at finding the good in others.
APPEARANCE: Larsa sports long, dark hair with his bangs side-swept to his left; his eyes are light by contrast. He wears a long, white poofy-armed blouse with a gold and red detailing underneath a blue-green tunic. To match this, he wears navy pants and knee-high leather boots which are green in the back. Around his neck, he wears a blue medallion, symbolizing House Solidor to which he belongs. His ears are pierced and he wears red earrings with a gold trim.
PERSONALITY: Larsa is someone who believes wholeheartedly in cooperation leading to peace. Although his family and his guards serve as antagonists throughout the game, Larsa himself remains untainted by his family's influence and is not quite on the heroes' side, per se, but on the side of peace. In fact, while Larsa is well aware of the damage his family is doing to the world (which he firmly believes needs to be stopped and undone) he is, in a way, sheltered for a great portion of the game. His father and his brother in particular take it upon themselves to keep Larsa's hands free of blood. That doesn't mean he's kept in the dark about what's going on—quite the opposite in that he knows far more than his family wants him to know, thanks to his nosy, inquisitive nature.
Being free from actually committing murder himself, Larsa has developed a glowing amount of optimism in addition to cultivating a desire to help those around him. His AI reflects this in a way, as his default is to throw healing potion after healing potion at injured allies. Larsa takes his position as a member of House Solidor very seriously. He says to Penelo, whom at the time he'd just met: “The men of my family, we are taught to place the needs of others before those of our own. I will see that you are kept from harm. It is my duty to House Solidor.” It is a promise he takes to heart, and he apologizes when it becomes clear that a gift he gave her may have put her in danger. Although Penelo claims that as the younger brother to Vayne and the son of Emperor Gramis, Larsa couldn't possibly know the pain of war. While he may not have lost friends and family to the war, he had already lost two of his brothers due to internal conflict within his family, something he keeps to himself. He's not one to play the "who has it worse?" game, nor does he feel he has a right to judge others for their opinion of him.
While he is skilled with dual-wielding a sword (a Joyeuse) and a sword breaker, Larsa remains a technical pacifist, only harming others when absolutely necessary such as in self-defense. In fact, he is only openly "violent" twice in the game: once to serve as a distraction by throwing manufacted Nethicite (basically a magical rock) at a bounty hunter; the other when Larsa has finally decided his brother has gone too far in his plans of demolishing the Kingdom of Dalmasca, and even then he's holding his sword shakily with both hands as opposed to his normal, confident stance.
That being said, while Larsa sues for peace, he is continually conflicted as his optimism is tested again and again. While his allies tell him that his father will not propose peace between Arcadia and the other kingdoms, Larsa believes his father will listen to him. For nearly the entire game, Larsa defends his older brother Vayne, showing great respect, love and admiration for him. It takes his brother proposing what was essentially meant to be pointless slaughtering and display of power that made Larsa realize his brother had crossed the line. His faith in people, once he has it, is not easily swayed as shown by his love for his brother Vayne. This makes him rather naive, especially when he tends to see the good in everyone.
Family issues aside, Larsa is nearly a normal twelve-year-old considering the kind of life he leads, although because it's in the 700s and he's royalty, he tends to speaks in a bit of an archaic manner. He is intelligent, though about things no ordinary twelve-year-old would know. This gives him away while he is trying to go undercover to see what his family is up to in the neutral floating city of Bhujerba. He gives himself the name of Lamont, a name he very obviously came up with on the spot when the protagonists ask who he is. He then proceeds to rattle on about politics between Bhujerba and Arcadia, policies that dictate where Arcadian Judges (essentially knights/guards) can and cannot be, etc. On one hand, half the party seems to assume Larsa is simply precocious, but he doesn't fool all of them; it's his excessive knowledge about Nethicite that completely blows his cover. His intelligence on these kind of matters is important because often within Ivalice, especially in regards to commoners, they only know about their own culture, completely ignorant about others. Yet Larsa seems well-versed in all major cultures and procedures within Ivalice, most likely due to his royal upbringing. He is also rather intuitive, able to figure out who Penelo was when he'd never seen her before thanks to comments Vaan had made earlier.
Larsa is also one of those royals who actually do something. The Senate expects Larsa to be their puppet; his brother Vayne is a good ruler, but not easily manipulated. Since Larsa is so young, the Senate figures he would make a much better heir to the Archadian Empire, a child emperor who can be easily molded as the Senate saw fit. However, Larsa proves again and again that he could not be controlled. His ideals were already firmly in place and he would not be swayed from them. He wants the war to be over and, to the Senate's dismay, Larsa is willing to do anything to make that peace happen. This includes the whole going undercover thing above, working together with the leaders of Archadia's enemies so that an agreement of peace can be reached between all the kingdoms, and offering up himself as a hostage in order to get Archadia's enemies to trust that he's on the side of peace.
Because he is used to dealing with adults, he's had very little interaction with people his own age. Still, he adapts quickly such as when in the company of Vaan and Penelo, both in their mid-to-late teens. While it's clear normal teenage snark, sarcasm and jokes occasionally go right over his head, he's not at all shy about jumping into a conversation even if it's not about politics. Overall, he is a polite young boy with very good manners, though he doesn't have a problem calling out others on their "surprisingly rude!" attitudes. He can be rather sassy when he wants to be, too. When Judge Ghis tells him not to wander around unaccompanied, he casually says he will heed his council and then proceeds to take the girl's hand he'd never seen before and whom Ghis had been berating (Penelo), strolling away with her. When it comes to comforting others, Larsa tends to be someone who feels it's necessary to use physical touch, such as a touch on the arm or the squeezing of the hand.
Considering the amount of devastation Larsa has gone through (the death of his two eldest brothers, the death of his father, the death of a fair number of people in a town due to his presence there alone, the death of the Judges who had a hand in raising and protecting him and finally the death of his other brother partially at his own hands), Larsa handles stress incredibly well for someone his age. Though it's clear that the more terrible things happen to him, the greater the impact on him is. Things keep piling up, and eventually the shock and weight of it all makes him fairly withdrawn during the time he deals with it. When he's suddenly told without any preparation that his father has not only died, but was murdered, he mentally checks out for the rest of the Very Important Plot Conversation. When Vayne, his last remaining relative, was killed out of necessity as well as Judge Gabranth being fatally injured, he begins to fall apart. But he doesn't unravel completely. He is able to pull himself together and make the announcement with Ashe of Dalmasca and Basch (masquerading as his now dead twin brother Gabranth) that the war ravaging Ivalice has come to an end.
By the end of the game, Larsa has matured, although he was already quite mature to begin with. He proves Penelo wrong—that he does indeed know the pain of war—and keeps his promise to keep her safe.

FIRST PERSON:
If you could make any reality at all, what would you make?
If the decision were to be made by someone such as myself, I would create a reality in which there would be true peace. However, I am quite painfully aware that such a world could never happen naturally and I am not entirely sure such a world ought to be. Humes, as we are now, are selfish creatures. While many of us are willing to cooperate and make sacrifices, there are those who would do no such thing. Such people would make the idealistic reality of true peace and happiness an impossibility. Removing those people from the reality is also an impossibility, for as selfish and mean as they might be, surely there is at least one person who would care for them, who would be saddened by their disappearance. Even if one were to remove their less than friendly traits, that would be taking away their humanity. As easy a solution that might be, it is definitely not the right one.
What would you say is your greatest strength?
I suppose my greatest strength is perhaps my perseverance. It is easy to want things and do nothing about them, to forget your dreams. It is harder to want things, to dream of great possibilities and to reach for them, only to find they always seem to be just out of your grasp. Had I given up or had I sat and done nothing, I believe peace, while still attainable, would have been harder to achieve. Needless to say, I am not the only one who brought about the peace of my world. In fact, I would say the perseverance of my allies was greater, as too were their odds of defeat.
If you were given the option to stay in the Digital World or return to your home, which would you choose? Why?
That depends. I've a duty to attend to in my world, but I've also a duty here. If my duty here is finished, then surely it would be best for me to return to my world and continue working toward peace. I am unable to see why I cannot fulfill my purpose in both worlds. It must be possible, and surely the work involved would be taxing, but if it were to save both worlds then I would gladly accept such a gargantuan task. My only hope would be that I would be able to acceptably complete it.
THIRD PERSON:
He felt like he was dreaming. Drawn to this strange and foreign world as a Chosen Child? While he had no qualms about doing what he could to help the people—or in this case Digimon—here, he had to wonder if he was right for the job. Magicks were no good here, and as he'd been told the "bad Digimon" here were impervious to swords and the like. He supposed he could try negotiating, but by now he'd learned the difficulties in trying to negotiate with someone who wanted to kill you.
What a dilemma.
His partner stared up at him with hopeful eyes. It was those eyes that made him feel a pang of guilt for even considering that his help would be meaningless. There were other things he could do, things that would definitely help others. Provide medical support, transfer supplies... His presence here was not going to be meaningless; he would make sure of that. Besides, he wasn't alone; he had a partner, a partner who had waited its entire life for him. Working together would make saving this world a real possibility and not some far off dream.
He didn't think about the fact going home would be impossible if he didn't fix what was wrong here. All that mattered at this moment was that this world needed to be saved and someone thought he could do it. So he would. With a smile, he picked up his partner, his grip firm yet still gentle.
"You say you have waited for me to arrive here for the entirety of your life," he said, his voice quiet and contemplative. How long had his partner been waiting? Weeks? Months? Years? "And so, I swear to you that I shall make the long wait worthwhile." Surely every person here had their place. It didn't matter what job he had to do as long as it was useful in even some minor degree. If providing support helped to save this world, then so be it. Saving this world would be his apology for the long delay in his arrival.
